Lot 1626 WWII GERMAN POSTSCHUTZ DAGGER BY WEYERSBERG.
A very fine example of a WWII German Postschutz or Postal Protection Service dagger. This dagger measures 15 1/2" overall with a 9 5/8" that is marked on the reverse PAUL WEYERSBERG & CO. (logo) SOLINGEN". The plated crossguard has an eagle head at the top with a black enameled Party symbol on each side and is stamped on the underside " 790 " & " DRP ". Plated pommel with ring embellishment above a black wooden grip with a Postal eagle in the center. Black enameled scabbard with plated monts and original chain hanger marked "DRGM". CONDITION: very light wear overall. Blade shows substantial original factory polish with slight scabbard wear. There is a tiny chip at the base of the grip on the reverse side. Scabbard finish is virtually 100%. chaine clip has a bit of finish loss on the top.. (02-24979/BF). NON-GUN. $2,500-3,250.
